Three wickets in the over for Shafali and India win! She dances down the track to hit it across the line but misses. Yastika quickly whips the stumps off.
IND Women vs BAN Women, 2nd T20I at Dhaka, BAN v IND (W), Jul 11 2023 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Well, that's all from us for the second T20I. The final match of the series is day after tomorrow. Looking forward for your company for that game. On behalf of Vairavan and Srinidhi, this is Sudarshanan signing off. Take care!
5:15pm Time for the presentations!
Nigar Sultana: "Bowlers did well to restrict India. I should have ended the game. I think we didn't get the start we want. Looking forward to the last game. [On Mostary] She is now under treatment. I wish we get her in the next match."
Deepti Sharma, Player of the Match: "I really enjoyed on this track. It helped the spinners. My plan was really simple, we held our nerves and bowled according to the situation. The plan was to bowl dot balls. Harry di told everyone to keep calm, think our process and play confidently. Everyone did well as a team. Whenever I get an opportunity with the bat, I look to finish 20 overs."
Harmanpreet Kaur: "It's always important to bounce back. In the second innings we showed our characters and came up with positive results. Our bowlers were bowling under pressure but did well. In this series we have a couple of young bowlers who are going to take responsibility and bowl for us. Important for us to trust them. We are not going to hide them in the field."
5:05pm India defend 95 to wrap up the T20I series win with a game to spare! A jailbreak for them for sure. After being kept to 95 by Bangladesh, who primarily relied on spinners, India applied the spin-squeeze, too. Deepti and Shafali picked up three wickets apiece after Mani rocked Bangladesh at the top with a double-strike. It did get too close for comfort for India, but they managed to hold their nerves in a close finish.
19 overs of spin is the joint-second-most in a women's T20I innings, says Sampath Bandarupalli!
Azweer : "Last 5 wickets for just a Single, within a span of 8 balls."
Ananth: "17 dot balls in 4 overs! Well bowled Minnu in a helpful pitch!"
Quicker and fuller outside off, she misses the hack across the line.
A bit of a miscommunication but Shafali has her eyes on the ball and picks up her second wicket in the over. Fahima looks to wallop it across the line but only top-edges it. Yastika rushes towards it but the bowler pouches it safely.
Quicker and fuller outside off, she gets across to scoop ity but misses.
Fahima with nine needed off four
Deol now gleefully and calmly accepts a catch at long-on! Nahida looks to put pressure on Shafali by charging down the track and taking the aerial route. But no mistake by Deol, who is one of the better fielders around, this time.
A calm Shafali runs Rabeya out! She bowls a drag-down which Nahida pulls towards deep midwicket. She wants a second but Amanjot fires an accurate throw to Shafali, who does the rest.
Ten needed off the last over. Shafali Verma is the designated bowler! Harmanpreet has a long chat with her to get the field placements right.
Flatter and on a length outside off, cut to backward point. Four runs and a huge wicket in the over.
Rabeya Khan is in next.
Yastika stumps Nigar and that is a big, big blow! She has her head thrown back as she drags herself off. Once again Deepti tosses it up outside off, Nigar dances down the track to hoick it across. Misses the ball completely as it passes under the bat. No mistake this time from Yastika.
Deepti aborts after getting to the bowling crease.
Quicker and outside off, slapped to sweeper cover. Nigar takes on Amanjot's arm. The throw was a tad wide, but Yastika collects the throw and misses her shy at the stumps at the striker's end. Nigar gets down on her haunches to regather herself after that narrow miss.
Quicker and fuller outside off, she comes down the track and hits it on the bounce to long-on.
On a length outside off, pulled to long-on.
Flatter and well outside off, she walks across and flatbats it towards mid-off.
Deepti for the penultimate over.
Deol drops a crucial catch! Nigar survives. Loopy full toss around middle, she dances down to hit it over the bowler's head but miscues it towards long-on. Deol runs in and dives but fails to hang on.
Darts in flatter and on a length around middle, swept straight to square leg.
15 needed off 14 now.
A telling blow! Slinks down the track and goes inside out. Mid-off and cover were in the ring and that is a safe shot.
Slower through the air outside off, looks to turn it across but gets it off the leading edge through cover.
Quicker on middle and leg, swept to deep backward square leg.
Quicker and outside off, pushed towards point.
21 needed off the last three overs. Deepti and Rodrigues will likely bowl two of them. Who will bowl the other one? Shafali or Harmanpreet or Vastrakar? For now Rodrigues bowls out
Fuller outside off, pushed to cover.
Comes down the track to take it on the full and works it through midwicket.
