ENGLAND v SRI LANKA

At Leeds, June 20. England won by nine wickets. Making their only change of the competition, Cowans for the injured Dilley, England won the shortest match in it very easily. On a pitch which gave the bowlers a little help, Sri Lanka were always struggling, with Willis doing much to set their innings on its unhappy course. Fowler, with Tavaré and then Gower, made the 137 needed in only 24.1 overs.

Man of the Match: R. G. D. Willis.
