TelstraClear Black Caps team to meet the Sri Lankan Academy XI named

TelstraClear Black Caps coach Denis Aberhart today named the team to play the Sri Lankan Academy XI tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) in a two-day match at Nondescripts Cricket Club in Colombo.

The 12-man team is:

Robbie Hart
Matt Horne
Richard Jones
Jacob Oram
Mark Richardson
Mathew Sinclair
Scott Styris
Daryl Tuffey
Daniel Vettori
Paul Wiseman

The 12th man has not yet been named.

Aberhart said the match was the first of two two-day games the team had before the first Test against Sri Lanka on Friday, April 25 at P Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo.

"There is no break between the two games so most of the players will play four straight days of cricket.

"This will give them a chance to get used to the heat and humidity and allow us to finalise our combination for the first Test."

Aberhart said the team was in good spirits and that everyone was fit.

"Everyone is fit and healthy and we have 14 players competing for Test selection."
