Graeme Swann might be ruled out of action for up to six weeks after he fractured his left thumb during Northamptonshire's two-day Championship win over Somerset.
Swann sustained the injury when he tried to stop a fierce drive from Jamie Cox. He had an X-ray yesterday morning and as soon as the fracture was revealed his hand was put in a cast.
