At Saravanamuttu Stadium, Columbo, November 3. Sri Lanka won by four wickets. New Zealand captained by Coney, were restricted on an easy-paced pitch by tight out-cricket. Sri Lanka were in turn reduced to 79 for five before the nineteen-year-old Aravinda de Silva came to the rescue with an unbeaten half-century.
