Somerset pulled off a sensational five-run victory over Derbyshire as Ian Blackwell and Andrew Caddick induced a collapse of 6 for 15 when Derbyshire had victory in sight. Jon Moss' 106 off 88 balls had put them on course for their target of 268 after solid support from Steve Stubbings (56) and Hasan Adnan (48 off 40 balls). However, Blackwell had Moss caught and the lower order imploded as the required rate climbed. Luke Sutton, the captain, was run out for 19 with two balls remaining. The result vindicated Blackwell's declaration, which set Derbyshire 268 in 44 overs, following his own 88 off 85 balls in the morning session.
