Smith receives Cricketer of the Month Award

Ben Smith was today named as the Bland Bankart plc Leicestershire 'Cricketer of the Month' for July.

Fine individual performances by Ben have totalled 252 runs, including 111 not out versus Durham and 102 versus Surrey in the PPP Healthcare County Championship. In the Norwich Union Cricket League he scored a vital 54 not out versus Lancashire, and in the Tourist match versus the West Indies Ben scored 76 runs.

Sponsored by Bland Bankart plc, Risk and Insurance Managers, the cash award, together with a bottle of champagne, will be presented at the County Ground, Grace Road, Leicester by Mr. Philip Bland on Wednesday 16th August.
