BRETT LEE STORMS INTO PWC TOP TEN
Brett Lee, Australia's newest bowling phenomenon, has soared to sixth in
the PricewaterhouseCoopers Ratings for bowlers. His rapid climb comes
after taking 31 wickets in just five Test matches at an average of just
over 16 runs per wicket. Lee has climbed the ratings faster than any
bowler in the last decade, but he will have to continue to bowl well over a
sustained period if he is to reach Number One.
Australians now dominate the ratings. Six of the current Australian team
are in the top 20 batsmen and all of their main bowlers are in the top 30.
CAIRNS TOPS ALL ROUNDER INDEX
After the comprehensive 3-0 series defeat by Australia, one positive to
emerge for New Zealand is that Chris Cairns has climbed to number one in
the PwC All rounder index. The index is calculated by multiplying batting
and bowling ratings together. The current top four in the Test all rounder
index are:
