†PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1986-87

At Perth, December 30 (day/night)

15-Apr-1988
At Perth, December 30 (day/night). Pakistan won by 34 runs. Although West Indies were handicapped by the absence of Marshall and Garner with minor injuries, Pakistan, having been put in, were held to what seemed an insufficient total on a good pitch. Ramiz Raja and Javed Miandad put on 91 in twenty overs for the third wicket, but when Miandad skied his 69th ball to mid-on, Pakistan lost six for 36 in the final seven overs. West Indies were well on course until Richardson failed to respond to Richards's call for a sharp single in the 29th over. When Mudassar won an lbw decision against Richards in the 30th, and Logie and Dujon followed by the 38th, they were struggling. With intelligent support Harper might still have rescued them, but Benjamin, Holding and Gray threw away their wickets.
Man of the Match: Mudassar Nazar. Attendance: 11,900.
