Pakistan: National cricket camp in full swing

Lahore, Dec 18: Players had their match practice for about two hours
in the afternoon session of the National Cricket camp here at the
Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
The practice started at 2.30 p.m. Those, who were seen batting were
Wasim Akram, Moin Khan, Muhammad Wasim, Shahid Afridi, Yousuf Youhanna
and Azhar Mahmood. Coach Intikhab Alam supervised the training of the
boys along with Azmat Rana. The camp is in full swing.
During the morning session, held between 10:30 am to 12 noon, full
attention was given to fielding practice. On Friday four players
namely, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Ejaz Ahmad and Abdul Razzaq had
batting practice.
From Monday onwards, on the orders of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
ad hoc committee chairman, Lt.-Gen. Tauqir Zia, the floodlights of the
Gaddafi Stadium will be switched on at 4 pm and the afternoon session
will last till 5:30 pm to give opportunity to all the batsmen for
batting practice.
Lt.-Gen. Tauqir Zia held discussion with captain Wasim Akram in the
ground on Saturday. He was also seen busy discussing important matters
with the newly-appointed manager of the Australia-bound Pakistan team
Brig (rtd) Khawaja Muhammad Nasir. He also shook hands with all the
trainees.
Test opener Aamir Sohail has also been called in the national camp but
he will not be included in the team right now. Aamir Sohail did not
report in the camp on Saturday. He will be leading the PCB team in the
match on Dec 22.
