Karachi, Aug 26: Pakistan face South Africa in the final of the Singapore Challenge tomorrow (Sunday) at the Kallang Cricket Club Ground in Singapore.
Pakistan, who remained unbeaten after winning both their league ties against New Zealand and South Africa, have been reinforced by inclusion of opener Salim Elahi - a late replacement for the injured all-rounder Shahid Afridi.
This the second time that Pakistan have qualified for the final in a Singapore tournament, having won the triangular title in 1996 after defeating the then World Cup winners Sri Lanka.
South Africa, who made it to the final with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over New Zealand on Friday, hold psychological advantage against Pakistan because in the recent tri-series in Sri Lanka, Shaun Pollock's men emerged victorious in both league encounters.
Pakistan, however, won their last meeting on Wednesday by 28 runs after the South Africans had barely arrived in Singapore from Melbourne where they levelled the three-match one-day series against world champions Australia.
