Kennedy Otieno, Kenya's out-of-favour wicketkeeper, has said that he is delighted to be back in the national reckoning after being recalled to the provisional squad for the forthcoming Intercontinental Cup tie in Canada.
Otieno was dropped after Kenya's disappointing one-day series in Bangladesh - he failed with the bat in three outings - and he reacted by threatening to retire.
But after his recall, he was in a far more conciliatory mood. "I am happy for the gesture. I just want to play again," Otienco said as the squad practiced at the team's training ground at the Aga Khan Sports Ground.
Otieno, however, still has to make the final squad when the 27-man training group is cut down to 15 later this week.
