TelstraClear Black Caps coach Denis Aberhart said Jacob Oram has had slight stiffness in his back since bowling in the team's last match, also played against Sri Lanka, on Tuesday, May 13.
"Jake still has a little tightness and a decision on his fitness will be left until just before the match.
"He has been bowling consistently well so we are hopeful he can be named in the starting 11.
"However Andre hasn't played on tour so far and he is eager for an opportunity to impress."
The team also has one more match to play against Pakistan on Tuesday before the finalists of the tri-series are determined.
