Sri Lanka Cricket informs that Murali suffered a slight increase in pain following the NZ Tsunami Relief charity matches, and consulted Mr. David Young and Mr. Greg Hoy in Melbourne for an opinion. A MRI scan was taken, and upon the basis of the scan results it was decided that a diagnostic arthroscope be performed to assess the integrity of the shoulder complex.
The results showed excellent healing of the previous surgery sites, and a mild case of synovitis and a mild strain in the rotator cuff attachment. No other significant injuries were detected. Murali will miss 6 weeks of cricket, a standard length of time post arthroscopy, but will be commencing a rehabilitation program upon return to Colombo next week.
