Langeveldt joins Leicestershire

Charl Langeveldt, the South Africa pace bowler, has signed with Leicestershire on a short-term deal as cover for RP Singh, who has left to join India's tour of Bangladesh.

Langeveldt arrived in England on Monday and goes straight into the Leicestershire squad for their County Championship match against Gloucestershire, at Bristol, starting on Wednesday. He finished as South Africa's joint leading wicket-taker at the World Cup with 14 scalps as the team reached the semi-finals.

His previous experience in English domestic cricket was a six-game stint with Somerset in 2005 which brought the modest return of 15 wickets at 42.
