The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Essex cricketer, Joseph Grant, has received three penalty points under the ECB's discipline code following an incident during Essex's Second Xl Championship match against Kent played on 19-22 August.
Grant was reported by Umpire Steve Garratt for a Level Two breach of the code (showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action).
The penalty points remain on Grant's record for a period of 12 months. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any 12-month period will result in an automatic suspension.
