Rajshekhar Ghosh, who returned match figures of 6/33 helped Tripura
defeat Sikkim by an innings and 84 runs in an East Zone Cooch Behar
Trophy match at the Polytechnic Institute Ground, Agartala on
Saturday. Sikkim were in trouble at the hands of left arm medium pacer
Tushar Saha (4/14) in their first innings and were bundled out for 73
in 32.1 overs. Tripura blazed off to 264 all out in 77.1 overs, riding
on a patient 40 by Subrata Choudhury and a half century by Sandip
Banerjee (56). Pintu Kumar (4/63) and Amos Rai (3/83) were the
successful bowlers. Sikkim were dismissed for 107 in 41.2 overs in the
second innings with Amlesh Kumar (39) making the major contribution.
Rajshekhar Ghosh (3 for 16) and Kaushik Choudhury (3 for 14) caused
most of the damage.
