Wavell Hinds, the Jamaica and West Indies batsman, has appealed against his ban for the alleged verbal abuse of two umpires in a club match two months ago.
Hinds, who captains Jamaica, was found guilty of breaching the Jamaica Cricket Association's disciplinary code when, allegedly, he "verbally abused" the two umpires, Errington Malcolm and Desmond Edwards, during Kensington Cricket Club's match against Trelawny Parish on June 23.
It is yet another setback for Hinds and his stuttering international career; he last represented West Indies in a one-dayer against Australia last October. He will have his appeal heard on August 21.
