Three Hampshire players are facing dates with the surgeon's knife shortly to right ailments in preparation for the push for promotion to Division One of the County Championship next season.
Spinner Shaun Udal wasted little time in booking his place on the operating table, going in today (Tuesday September 23) to sort out his troublesome shoulder that has caused him problems for some three years.
22-year-old Chris Tremlett will join him tomorrow (Wednesday September 24) for a hip operation that has caused him to miss a considerable part of the season.
But, following a period of three-month rehabilitation, he will be joining first team manager Paul Terry in his Perth based AusAcademy to sharpen up for the new season.
Meanwhile, also in Perth, Alan Mullally will be going in for an ankle operation early next month.
Even Hampshire scorer and web-master Vic Isaacs, who has been seen limping around the Rose Bowl this past season, is going in for a vital foot saving operation at a private clinic in Bristol.
Other news from the Rose Bowl and former Surrey batsman Ian Ward has decided against a move to Hampshire following talks with club officials.
