Dates for Carib Beer 2003 cricket series final changed

The West Indies Cricket Board has rescheduled the inaugural final of the Carib Beer 2003 Cricket Series.

The match to decide the winners of the inaugural Carib Beer International Challenge will now start a day earlier on Thursday, April 3, and conclude on Sunday, April 6.

"This will afford us an extra day to get players involved in the final, but who are picked for the West Indies team to Georgetown ahead of the opening Test against Australia, and allows them more time to recover too," remarked Michael Hall, the Chief Cricket Operations Officer of the WICB.

Meanwhile, the teams and umpires for the semifinals of the Carib Beer International Challenge from March 28 to 31 have been finalised, after the outstanding fixture in the preliminary competition saw West Indies-B capture first innings points from India-A in a drawn match.

At Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, newly crowned Carib Beer Cup champions Barbados face Trinidad & Tobago, where the field umpires will be Guyanese Eddie Nicholls and Clive Duncan.

At Albion Sports Complex in Berbice, Guyana host Jamaica, where the standing umpires will be Montserrat's Basil Morgan and Grenada's Glenroy Johnson.
