Fast bowler Bilawal Bhatti has been picked by Pakistan's national selection committee as a replacement for the injured Rahat Ali for the ongoing Tests against Bangladesh.
Though chief selector Haroon Rasheed had said last week that there were "no plans to send any replacement for Rahat to Bangladesh", a PCB release on Wednesday confirmed that Bhatti, who is currently touring Sri Lanka with Pakistan A, will join the national team ahead of the second Test, in Mirpur.
Bhatti, 23, last played for Pakistan in the two-match ODI series in New Zealand just before the World Cup, in February. He has played 19 international matches, including two Tests against Sri Lanka in January last year. He had sustained a hand injury during the home series against New Zealand in December and ended his chances of making the team's final 15 for the World Cup.
The PCB release also added that 30-year-old seamer Tabish Khan, who is a member of Pakistan A's one-day squad, will stay back in Sri Lanka as a replacement for Bhatti in the four-day format.
