Bangladesh v Zimbabwe
Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, 2004-05
Utpal Shuvro
15-Apr-2006
At Chittagong, January 24, 2005. Zimbabwe won by 31 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe. One-day
international debut: Enamul Haque, jun.
Matsikenyeri was run out off the first ball of the match, and Zimbabwe were a modest 153 for
five in the 41st over, but a blistering stand of 84 in nine overs between Taibu and Chigumbura
lifted them to a fighting total. They wrecked Mashrafe bin Mortaza's figures - his first six overs
yielded only nine runs, his last three 32. As at Dhaka, Bangladesh were on course at 130 for two.
Then Rogers ran out Habibul Bashar, backing up too far, and Hondo's next ball trapped Iqbal
lbw. This began a collapse, and Rogers added two wickets to his run-out and his 66 with the bat.
Man of the Match: B. G. Rogers.
