Ashwell Prince will lead the Rest of South Africa team against India on at Benoni on Thursday. He has been allowed to take his place in the team despite having the MTN Domestic Championship final for the Cape Cobras at Newlands the next day.
Haroon Lorgat, the convenor of selectors, said: "We are encouraged by the depth of the players in the team. The selectors are also pleased with the commitment shown by all the franchise teams and coaches in making this season more significant in our preparation for the tours by India and Pakistan.
"Shukri Conrad [the Cobras' coach] must also be commended for allowing Ashwell to play on Thursday, ahead of the MTN Domestic Championship final."
Lorgat also gave an update on a couple of injury problems that surround the squad. "Arno Jacobs has stitches in the webbing on his fingers which will be removed on Friday morning. Johan van der Wath's hamstring strain is being monitored and he may have to undergo a fitness test."
