Profile
Alester Maregwede is a middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper who was one of the first intake of students at the CFX Academy in Zimbabwe, in 1999. He was a forerunner of Tatenda Taibu and others in that he also grew up in the Harare black township of Highfield and attended Churchill High School in a ZCU scholarship. Although living in Harare, since 2002 he has played for Midlands in the Logan Cup. He has represented Zimbabwe A as vice-captain. He made his ODI debut against West Indies in 2003-04 and has played regularly since the departure of the rebel cricketers, playing some gritty innings but with no major contributions.
