Sourav Ganguly made a fine start with the bat in his first series as captain against South Africa, but had a miserable time against the Aussies. His return to form has been slow, but he is beginning to look comfortable in Sri Lankan conditions, though his team has failed. He will have to do something spectacular with the bat for India to spring back into contention in the tournament.
