Murray Goodwin played for Zimbabwe in 19 Test matches scoring 1414 runs at an average of 42.84. He made a strokeful 70 in his debut Test match against Sri Lanka and was one big hope of Zimbabwe cricket. A product of the Australian Cricket Academy (1992-93), Goodwin is a natural strokemaker. Zimbabwe would sorely miss his match winning abilities in the upcoming series against India as he decided to leave for a professional career in Western Australia owing to some difference of opinion with the authorities in Zimbabwe. In his last appearance for Zimbabwe, Goodwin smashed an unbeaten 148 against England in the English summer of 2000.
