TelstraClear Black Caps leave for ICC Champions Trophy campaign tomorrow

In preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka, a 14-man TelstraClear Black Caps squad will fly to Sydney tomorrow (Saturday, August 31) for an eight-day training camp

In preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka, a 14-man TelstraClear Black Caps squad will fly to Sydney tomorrow (Saturday, August 31) for an eight-day training camp.
As part of the TelstraClear Black Caps longer term planning for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, six players who are not in the team to defend the ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka will also take part in the training camp.
Whilst in Australia the TelstraClear Black Caps will play four one-day matches against Australian State sides.
On September 4 and 5 they will play two one-day matches against Tasmania, both at the Davison Oval in South Sydney, and on September 3 and 6 they will play two one-day matches against New South Wales at Dalton Park, Wollongong and Caringbah Oval, Sutherland, respectively.
The team will then leave for Sri Lanka on September 7 where they will play two practice matches in Colombo, the first against South Africa on September 11 and the next against Zimbabwe on September 12.
The TelstraClear Black Caps first match of the ICC Champions Trophy, which they must win to progress in the tournament, is against Australia on September 15.
