Lancashire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the signing of the Indian international spin bowler Harbhajan Singh as the Club's second overseas player for 2003.
Singh, 22, joins the Club on a one-year contract and this will be his first foray into county cricket, having played his first-class cricket with his home team, Punjab since 1997.
In his Test career, Singh has taken 110 wickets at an average of 28.78, with his most notable returns coming from the Test series against Australia in March 2001 when he took 32 wickets in a three-match series - including a hat-trick (the first in Indian international history), returning figures of 4-132, 13-196 and 15-217.
Mike Watkinson, Lancashire Cricket Manager said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of one of the world's leading spin bowlers. Hopefully his talents will be the perfect foil for our crop of very promising young pace bowlers."
