Aamir Sohail, the former Pakistan captain, yesterday claimed he was
left out of his country's World Cup plans after refusing to drop
match-rigging allegations against team-mates.
Aamir said the Pakistan Cricket Board told him that if he wanted to
play in the cup in England in May and June he would have to withdraw
the corruption allegations he made against Wasim Akram, the current
captain.
The Pakistan selectors, meanwhile, said Sohail, out of favour since
walking out of the team during the series with Zimbabwe last year, had
been excluded from the squad as he had not played enough domestic
cricket this season.
