  • New Zealand batsman Craig McMillan narrowly escaped penalty after an ICC Official Hearing in Dhaka yesterday morning. McMillan was accused of dissent after being given out caught at the wicket by Match Umpire Steve Bucknor in yesterday's Wills International Cup match against Zimbabwe. Match Referee Raman Subba Row decided that although there were mitigating factors relating to whether the appeal was for a stumping or a catch at the wicket, there had been some degree of unacceptable dissent. However, the only penalty imposed was a severe reprimand, and a warning as to future conduct, and McMillan will not face any suspension.
  • India and West Indies, two former world champions, arrived in Dhaka Sunday afternoon. Led by its successful captain Mohammad Azharuddin, the Indian contingent arrived at Zia International Airport at about 3.30 pm. The West Indies squad also arrived at the airport on board the same flight. Two members of the Australian squad also arrived in the city Sunday by a Thai International flight while four other members of the team are expected to be here by Monday. The rest of the Australian team, now touring Pakistan, will come on October 27 along with the Pakistan team.
