3rd Match: England v Pakistan at Lord's, 22 Jun 2003

Ball-by-Ball Commentary

Match State: Delay - Inspection 11am local time (10am GMT)

Good Morning for the 3rd and final match in the NatWest Challenge
between England and Pakistan being played at Lord's
This is essentially a 'final' as the series is 1-1 after the great
blistering equalising win by England at the Oval after Pakistan
had narrowly won the Old Trafford opening game.
Unfortunately we have some bad and good news this morning, a
delayed start as it been raining with an inspection at 10:00GMT
and if all goes well because the rain has stopped, a start at
        10:30GMT with still a 50 over game.
We shall keep you updated but it is getting brighter and its a warm
day but the forecast is for more rain later.
There has been no toss as that will be after the inspection.
We shall be back shortly with the latest happenings at Lord's.
All the covers have been removed now and inspection soon.
The teams today are unchanged for both sides.
Rashid called tails but the coin came down heads and England have
decided to bowl first on a damp outfield and humid atmosphere.
So Pakistan have been put in and we shall have to see how they fare
against Anderson and co in what are possibly helpful conditions.
With a start at 10:30GMT this will still be a 50 over game if the
        weather allows.
The pitch has a green tinge on top and its humid too so it will be
interesting to see how the Pakistan batters cope.
Still lots of cloud as the umpires walk out.
       Umps are Hair and Willey.
The England side is followed out byImran Nazir and Mohammad Hafeez.
       We have Hafeez facing Anderson
