Jacob Oram (40) and Mathew Sinclair (36) added 64 runs for the second
wicket. Oram was in a particularly attacking mood, swinging Harbhajan
Singh for a massive six over mid-wicket. Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly
sliced through the Kiwi batting order, picking up the wickets of
Sinclair, McMillan (17) and Lou Vincent (16). Stephen Fleming was
sorely missed by his teammates as the Kiwi innings struggled in the
middle part.
