 Profile

Younger brother of Paul, John is a useful bowler who, despite proving expensive in his international career, does have the knack of dismissing good batsmen. He sent Marcus Trescothick, Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood back to the pavilion on his debut against England, albeit for the cost of 79 runs. He also struck 30 off 26 deliveries in that game coming in at No. 9. He played two games in the 2007 World Cup but was wicketless in both. Afterwards, he took a break from international cricket to complete his electrical apprenticeship, but said he would be back in action for Ireland once he was qualified.
Alan Curr May 2007
