County news Shoaib to face Bangladesh on Worcestershire debut June 8, 2005 Shoaib Akhtar will make his debut for Worcestershire against Bangladesh at New Road this Sunday. The sides are playing a one-day match as a warm-up for Bangladesh ahead of their triangular tournament with England and Australia which starts on Thursday, June 16 when England play Bangladesh at The Oval. Shoaib was granted special permission to play in the match by both the ECB and Bangladesh, as his contract officially starts on July 1st. But he is already getting used to life at Worcestershire. "Shoaib has settled in well since arriving last week," said Worcestershire's chief executive, Mark Newton, "and this game is an ideal opportunity for him to show everybody how well he is bowling." © Cricinfo
