Following three days of heavy rain showers at Shenley Cricket Centre, the
women's first Test match between England and India has been abandoned as a
draw.
England Captain, Clare Connor, and India Captain, Anjum Chopra, have agreed
to play a One Day International match tomorrow at Beaconsfield Cricket Club,
Hertfordshire, ahead of the second Test match which begins on Wednesday 14th
August at the County Ground, Taunton.
Clare Connor said "it's disappointing not to play the Test match, but at
least we will have some international cricket before heading to Taunton for
the deciding Test".
England beat India twice in the One Day International triangular series last
month contested by England, New Zealand and India.
The match will be 50 overs per side, and will begin at midday. Admission is
free.
