Profile
Alan Brown was a genuinely fast bowler in his youth who slowed down and never quite lived up to his early promise. With a pronounced drag, he was Kent's main strike bowler for a decade as well as being an aggressive tailender. His best season came in 1965 when he took 116 wickets at 19.04. His two Test appearances came on the 1961-62 tour of India and Pakistan, but he took only three wickets. He played football as a centre-forward for Gravesend. Martin Williamson
