• Graham Thorpe was originally selected in the squad but withdrew (Sep 24). He was replaced by Robert Key.
• Craig White was added to the squad after two tour matches to cover for injuries.
• Darren Gough travelled with the squad to Australia, but after his knee injury failed to improve he was replaced by Alex Tudor in early November without playing a match.
• Simon Jones injured his knee during the first Test and returned to England. He was replaced by Chris Silverwood.
