Match State: Stumps - Day 1

Australia bounced back in the final session of the day inspired no
doubt by the return of Glen McGrath who though on the field for
the 2nd session was prevented from bowling due to an absense
        earlier on
McGrath said in an interview just completed that he feels 90% fit,
that there is a bit of a back ache and that he will be ready for
        tomorrow's resumption
Australian team Physio Errol Allcott said that McGraths back was
"pristine condition" that the MRI scan of it was better than he
expected and puts this down to McGrath not having any previous
        back related injury
Lou Vincent whose Test Century on Debut excited the patrons said
that he had it in mind that he would try to make a ton on debut.
He said that after a cautious start he realised his luck was in
and played on it for a while.
Vincent praised his captains support. He also said he was feeling
the emotions at the end of the day. He had it all luck, great shot
selection, rain, playing under lights, the fast track, 3 streakers
and the tough line up of McGrath, Lee and Gillespie
       all bowling to him.
Having won the toss when he d stated that he would rather not have
to choose, Stephen Fleming was rewarded for his judgement with New
Zealand putting together a good total at stumps on day one.

Match State: Tea - Day 2

New Zealand revelling in the WACA tracks flatness and lack of swing
        and seam
Well done by Astle and Parore carrying on the match to the
Australians adding 104 for the session and 174 for the day
the day while overcast looks great for cricket. support for the
game has been small today - we're yet to have a crowd figure but
dont be surprised if it is below 10000
The Australians look hard pressed to find that special something
required to break this record breaking 8th wicket stand. The shoe
is definately on the other foot for them now.
Well that is tea on day 2 -your comments are always welcomed - send
