LAHORE, Dec 5: Test pacer Shahid Nazir led a Pakistan A fight back in the one-off 'Test' against New Zealand 'A' after the tourists were bundled out for 100 in their first innings at Hamilton, according to information made available here on Saturday.

Nazir, who took five wickets on his debut against Zimbabwe two years ago, captured seven wickets for 39 runs as New Zealand A were bowled out for 279 on the second day of the four-day match.

Trailing by 179 runs, Pakistan A had reached 15 for no loss when the stumps were drawn on Saturday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 59 for seven, Pakistan A were dismissed for 100 with Test pacer Shane O'Connor capturing five wickets for 53 runs. Dion Nash bagged three wickets for 27 runs while Craig McMillan picked up two wickets for five runs.

New Zealand A, who packed their team with nine regular Test team members in preparation for the forthcoming series against India, got off to a flying 79-run start but slumped to 132 for five against the pace of Shahid Nazir.

Nevertheless, a priceless 70 from Dion Nash took the home team to eventual score and place them on a situation from where they can dictate terms.

Matthew Bell (91), Nathan Astle (53) and Dion Nash were the main run-getters.

Pakistan A are without captain Rashid Latif who has a stiff neck.
