Date-stamped : 10 Nov94 - 10:28 England v Prime Minister's XI Manuka Oval, Canberra, 9 November 1994 The Australian Prime Minister`s XI narrowly defeated the England side. Allan Border came out of retirement to lead the team. He won the toss, and elected to bowl. After 46.3 overs, England was all out 143. Atherton top-scored for his side with 31. Victorian bowler James Cook, and WA all-rounder Brendan Julian both got three wickets. Tasmanian wicket-keeper Mark Atkinson got five catches, including a great catch to dimiss Greame Hick for a duck. In reply the Australians made the required runs with 2 wickets to spare, 8/144. Lehmann starred with a 43 but was stumped off Tuf- nell. This brought on a middle order collapse. In the end NSW all-rounder Shane Lee, and Queensland bowler Greg Rowell got the required runs.
