Ricky Ponting says Australia are not looking at the fourth Test at Trent Bridge as "the biggest game of our lives" despite the match's importance in helping decide the destination of the Ashes. Australia have won the last eight series, but had it not been for Ponting's 156 at Old Trafford and four overs of last-wicket resistance from Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath, England would be 2-1 up.
"It's just another Test match," Ponting told AFP. "There is no doubt England have played well. We are not worried what they are doing. It is up to us to lift our standards. If we do that you will see another great Test match."
While Australia have a serious worry over Glenn McGrath and have picked the debutant Shaun Tait, Michael Vaughan is set to lead an unchanged team for the fourth time this series. "Australia tried to come back at us at Old Trafford and we withstood that, stood up to them and got them under pressure early because we batted so well the first day," he told AFP. "They are a tough team to beat but they are beatable."
However, Vaughan, who scored 166 at Old Trafford, refused to be drawn on England's chances of winning the Ashes for the first time in 18 years. "That will look after itself," he said. "If we perform to the standard we have done over the last two games anything's possible, but we can't look too far ahead."
