Oliver Hannon-Dalby

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is a tall (about six feet, seven inches), medium-fast bowler who developed through the Yorkshire youth system and made his first-class debut for the club, aged just 18, in 2008. While his maiden wicket was Mark Ramprakash, he had to wait until 2010 to play another game. He claimed five-wicket hauls in the first two Championship matches of the season - against Warwickshire and Somerset - but fell out of favour at the start of 2011 and, despite being drafted in to make his T20 debut in the Champions League of 2012, he opted to join Warwickshire for the 2013 season.

In his second Championship game for his new county, Hannon-Dalby batted for 78 minutes with an arm broken by an Alfonso Thomas delivery to help his side save the match against Somerset. But it was in 2014 that he really began to contribute. Despite his relatively gentle pace, he emerged as a calm death bowler and played a crucial role in Warwickshire's NatWest T20 Blast triumph - he claimed three wickets in the final against Lancashire and survived a memorable assault (both cricketing and verbal) by Andrew Flintoff. His red-ball game began to come into its own in the 2014 season, but it wasn't until 2019 that he hinted at his full potential with 44 wickets at 25.65, and a further 53 wickets at 23.69 in 2022.
