Cricinfo Fantasy Cricket continues to grow, with the five-day game becoming part of the action in our latest edition - the India-Pakistan Test series. After the enthusiastic response to earlier editions for ODI series and the World Twenty20, we have launched our first edition for Test cricket.
Regular users will have to take note of a few changes. Gone are the bonuses for batting strike-rates and bowling economy-rates, but instead we have beefed up the milestone bonuses. So, now you will be cheering for batsmen going past 30, 50, 75, 100, 150 or 200 runs in an innings, while bowlers will earn additional points if they take 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 wickets in an innings. And there's more, with a whopping 150 points up for grabs for batsmen who score a hundred in each innings, and for bowlers who take 10 wickets in a Test, besides the official Man of the Match.
There's also a change in the team combinations, with no players being classified as allrounders for the Tests, unlike the recently-concluded ODI series. So, now you can make teams consisting of five batsmen, five bowlers and one wicketkeeper or six batsmen, four bowlers and one keeper.
You might miss the thrills and spills of one-dayers and Twenty20s, but with a possible 40 wickets to be taken and plenty of runs to be scored over five days, a Test match can make for some exciting Fantasy Cricket. And with two traditional rivals locking horns over three Tests, this edition of Fantasy Cricket promises to be a fantastic experience.
Since it's our first foray with Test matches, this is a beta edition and there will be no prizes. But you can still create and join leagues, and see how your teams fare against the rest. So, what you waiting for? Just log in or register to make your teams today.
